Microneedling
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, triggers the skin’s healing response and stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin. Microneedling produces significant improvement in wrinkles, scars and stretch marks with minimal recovery time. It is a safe and well-tolerated procedure and is appropriate for all skin types. A series of 3 to 6 treatments at monthly intervals is typically recommended.
Compass Dermatology delivers our microneedling treatments with the Skinpen device. The needle cartridge and handle design ensure a sterile environment. The depth of needle penetration is individualized.
Topical numbing cream is applied prior to your treatment. Each session lasts about 30 minutes and patients typically experience one to two days of mild redness. Over the following months, the procedure stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin.
This procedure is our go-to for treatment of lip lines and aging of the lower eyelids. Combination treatments featuring microneedling, laser, PRP (platelet-rich plasma), and skin-plumping hyaluronic acid dermal fillers provide optimal results.
